THINGS TO SEE AND DO LOCALLY Sports
The lake in Priziac is the centre for Tennis, sailing, pedalos,
fishing and swimming, and there is also a playground for younger children. There is a municipal swimming
pool at Le Faouet, and horse riding at the Abbey of Langonnet.
Golf is within 30 minutes drive at Pontivy.
The area
is ideal for walking on the numerous “chemin rurales”, and quiet roads provide ideal routes for serious cyclists
or for those who just want to potter.
SIGHT SEEINGMarkets
are a popular attraction with their cosmopolitan mix of rustic charm allied with the convenience of the familiar. Specialties
include andouille (local sausage), cheeses, pate, organic foods and don't forget to try the Breton Cider.

which caters for the large English population! An English section of groceries and English speaking cashiers.

Market
is held on Thursdays – well worth a visit – you need to get there early for the full selection of
foods. There is free parking available alongside the river, cross over and follow on down with the
river on your left until you come to the parking in a field on your right.

CARHAIX – 38km
Market is Saturdays – an interesting town with fine shops.
JOSSELIN – 88km
Wonderful Chateau open to visitors set in beautiful gardens.
The town has mediaeval shop fronts and has friendly pavement cafes and restaurants.
QUIMPER – 33km
Another mediaeval town, with quaint shops, a pleasant square
facing the cathedral for lunch, and a lovely river with numerous decorative footbridges criss crossing it. Market Day Wednesday.
PONTIVY – 40km
The ancient capital of
Napoleon is 30km away and has a wide array of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Market
Monday.
VANNES – 83km Worth a visit for its
historic old quarter and its interesting array of shops and architecture. Visit the aquarium and butterfly house. The harbour
is particularly worth a visit as is Trinite-Sur-Mer, a large yachting centre.
BEACHES GUIDEL PLAGE –
40km - just along the coast from Larmor Plage
Another lovely wide beach, this one has lagoons when the tide is out, ideal for toddlers. Market on Sunday mornings.
LARMOR PLAGE – 45km
Nearest beach with lovely sand,
rock pools and toilet facilities. Some nice restaurants overlooking the beach. Market
on Sunday mornings

Lovely seaside town with well kept promenade, beachside cafes and restaurants, hotels, and very well kept seaside
houses. Beautiful safe silver sand beach with rock pools at either side of the bay.
