A Rural Idyll in Brittany!
Situated in a sheltered courtyard,
and benefitting from a large heated swimming pool, the two holiday cottages at Le
Cleuziou are just 5 minutes walk along a tree-lined lane for that all important baguette! The property is surrounded by 18 acres of fields,
with 2 streams, a lavoir, and many mature trees, in addition to the lawned, private gardens with terrace to the rear of the
property. Priziac is a small town with minimarket, post office, bars, restaurants and a hotel. Just 5 more minutes walking brings you to the Lac du Bel-Air which is over 100 hectares and is used for
swimming, boating and fishing during the summer months.
Priziac is set in the heart of the Morbihan countryside yet only 45 minutes from Lorient Airport and
the south coast beaches. It is a very pretty area being hilly and wooded, with
2 rivers which tumble over boulders and offer very good fishing. We also have a relationship
with a privately owned fishing lake nearby where you can fish for carp, rudd, roach, perch, pike and tench - for a very reasonable
12 euro day ticket to include hire of 2 rods. The roads are very quiet and so suitable for cycling. The nearby town of La Faouet has banks,
a Champion Supermarket, and lots of other shops and restaurants. It also has
an enormous old market hall, open at the sides where markets and other events are still held.
The Thursday market in Hennebont is an experience not to be missed, the food on sale is amazing, both to snack on and
to take home for later!
The accommodation
is in 2 very different cottages each is spacious and comfortable with a double bedroom,
a twin bedded room and a room with bunk beds. Both cottages offer character together with a high level of comfort with
central heating, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and Sky TV. There is a washing machine, tumble dryer
and ironing facilities in the games room. A high chair and cot are also available. Hortensia is white painted with blue shutters and retains the original hand
sawn floorboards, and staircase. It has a huge granite fireplace in the kitchen/diner, and a woodburning
stove in the lounge area. The downstairs bathroom has a vanity wash basin unit and a
shower over the bath, and there is a separate toilet and, new for 2010, a bathroom with bath, toilet and vanity
wash basin unit upstairs. Each bedroom has its own special appeal and character. La Laiterie is a stone cottage which was originally the dairy and which
has delightful arched stone doorways front and rear, and a huge granite fireplace with raised hearth on which there is a welcoming
woodburning stove. Several stone niches have been left as features, but the interior has been completely
renovated to be light and bright with ample wall lights, radiators, power points and double glazing. The
bathroom is very luxurious and there is a vanity wash basin in the main double bedroom.
